Flying in Formation
Yesterday I made a big batch of pesto, canned salsa and made a huge batch of spaghetti sauce. All the while, I wanted to be quilting. As they say, you have to make hay while the sun shines or in my case sauce while the tomatoes are in season! Well, I am making some progress on my quilt, albeit slow. My geese are now flying in formation.
My goal is to have this quilt top done by the end of Labor Day weekend. I guess you can Color Me Ambitious!

A Gaggle of Geese!
Flying Geese! I can't believe how much I love these dimensional flying geese and how easy they went together.
I chain pieced the individual geese (do you call that a goose???).
Then I sewed them together. I really think it looks like they're flying! This is the first 20! Woohoo!
Well, color me quilty!

Fast and Easy One Seam Flying Geese
Oh my gosh! I wish I had tried this sooner. This is the easiest, fastest, most accurate way to make flying geese, thank you Ricky Tims!
This is sew going in my Expanding Possibilities quilt.

The white squares are 2 1/2" x 2 1/2" and the raspberry rectangle is 2 1/2" x 4 1/2" (1/2" shorter than the 2 squares together. |
Fold the rectangle (WRONG sides together) and sandwich between the squares. Sew along the side of the sandwich. |
Voila! Prefect flying geese. Measures 2 1/2" x 4 1/2" |
Bonus, it has a dimensional quality about it |

World Quilt Show - New England IX (Part 2)
I keep thinking about all of the wonderful quilts that I saw at the World Quilt Show. They were very inspirational, although my pictures don't quite do them justice. Here is a look at a few more of the fabulous quilts. Click here to see Part 1.

Sew Much Fun in New Hampshire
I had sew much fun visiting my friend Kate in NH this week. We went to the World Quilt Show . We even got to sew together; started making the embroidered bears and moose into a log cabin quilt.
Unfortunately, a little rework had to be done to make the big bear and little bear blocks the same size. I think Kate's daughter will love them!
I had embroidered a cool horse design so Kate could make a purse like some that I have made (here and here).
I can't wait to see it completed!
Well, Color My Trip Successful!
