More fun homework from Leah Day this week, Spiral Ornaments. This was on a practice sandwich.
I really like the design, but I didn't have any sashing to put it on, then the light bulb came on and I realized I didn't need to stitch it on sashing.
I thought it would be perfect for the envelope flap of my pods pillow. (Isn't that the coolest Christmas fabric I got for the back of the pillow??)
And speaking of my pods pillow, I finished the FMQ on the front and got it trimmed down to size.

Spiral Ornaments wasn't the only spiraling I did this week, I got all 20 of the blocks for my second Storybook quilt quilted with spirals.

You are totally spiraling in control :) The Storybook blocks look great!!
ReplyDeleteI am still amazed at the FMQ on your pillow.
ReplyDeleteWow! You are on fire with that quilting! The envelope back is amazing, and the storybook blocks really look terrific.
ReplyDeleteYour quilting is looking great! I have been practicing FMQ a lot this year too and am seeing great improvement only more practice is needed. I love that backing fabric and have to tell you that I thought it was the quilt front at first...fun!
ReplyDeleteToo funny, Pat. You modified Leah's pattern the same way I did. Love the spiraling for the story book quilt. Can't wait for the reveal of the front.
ReplyDeleteGreat FMQ!
ReplyDeletereally great FMQ! And the black fabric with this amazing stars!!! Where can I get this? Do you remember the name of the fabric?
ReplyDeletelove the quilting!!!
ReplyDeleteWow, all of those spirals are making me dizzy! Great job! And yes, very cool Christmas fabric:)
ReplyDeleteI think practice makes perfect! That pillow front stitching is georgeous.
ReplyDeleteTerrific FMQ! I should be practicing more on some of those quilt tops I have hanging in my closet. However, I think your idea of doing FMQ as you go on the quilt squares is a way to get the quilted finished easily.
ReplyDeleteThanks for stopping by Freshly Pieced today and posting your WIP link.
