I am NOT the neatest person in the world, as my mother would have said, I'm a messing girl. I do though get into moods were I have to clean out, rearrange and give myself a fresh start. That's what I've been doing the last few weeks. I have cleaned out some fabric and given it away and I've now cleaned out my clothes closet and have three garbage bags to donate. We are getting our bedroom carpet professionally cleaned today, so we've cleared out the bedroom. I plan on being very careful about what goes back in there. I have even been rearranging my sewing room, not quite done yet, but here are some of the changes.
|
I replaced the folding table in front of my machine with these two little cabinets. My husband is going to build something to raise them to the height of my machine table. They are slightly narrower than the table that was there and have great storage. |
|
The cabinet leave a little more room for my "husband's chair". He likes to come in my sewing room and chat with me. |
|
I put both my Ott Lights over the table to the left of my machine, better lighting. |
This all leads me to the little quilting I have done this week. I finished the preliminary straight line quilting on my Charming Squares quilt. I could leave it like that, but if you know me, you know I'm going to FMQ the snot out of it.

I love the bright, bright colors! Congrats on being the new president of your guild!
ReplyDeleteWhen I saw the straight line quilting I almost panicked. I was afraid you were going to stop doing that amazing quilting.
ReplyDeleteIt is important to have that husband/best friend visitor chair in the sewing room. Sometimes they just like to come in and watch the magic happen.
Wow! Congratulations Madame President! I'm very similar in my cleaning (or lack thereof) and will let obscene piles of fabric accumulate before thinking I should do something about them.
ReplyDeleteIt feels good to purge doesnt it. It did my heart good to see hubbies chair. Great to have some one to cheer on your accomplishments.
ReplyDeletewell done x want to come a clean out my sewing room? lol x
ReplyDeletecongratulations! and i love when you quilt the snot out of everything ;) I can't wait to see more quilting on it
ReplyDeleteCongratulations on the MQG. I joined my local MQG a couple months ago and they have shared so much with me. I looked at your finishes and I'm sure the FMQ on this one will be wonderful, too! Thanks for sharing.
