WIP Wednesday and Welcome Back to QAL Wednesday with Leah Day

Well, I think Leah Day is feeling better, after a much deserved week off. (Sorry you weren't feeling well Leah). I have been FMQ away, practicing and having a lot of fun stitching the snot out of my sewing machine cover with still more to go.
Sewing machine cover I started as my project to stipple inside a shape

FMQ gone wild!

Feathers, echoing, McTavishing and pebbling, all in this little space.
I was able to get all of the rows of my storybook quilt put together. (Thank you Leah, I found the pressure setting on my machine).
Just need about a 4 inch border to make it a twin sized quilt.
I had to order some more fabric for the borders, it should be in this week (fingers crossed).

My question for Leah this week is: how much FMQ per day or week did you do to get so good so fast? Was there a point when you had a break through (what was that?) and thought, wow, I can quilt anything? Did you take a lot of classes or mainly just practice at home? At what point did you start entering quilt shows? Did you enter local shows? Did you get any feedback from entering shows that helped you become a better quilter? I know that without your blog and videos, I would not have progressed nearly as fast as I have to this point - Thank You!

My stats this week are:
In-process: (8)
FLMQG solids challenge crib quilt (2 out of 9 Urban Nine Patch blocks done)
Purple heart wall hanging ( needs borders, backing, quilting and binding)
Expanding Possibilities quilt (backing completed, needs to be based and quilted)
Storybook quilt # 1 -  Everything is together, just need a border and binding (QAYG )
Storybook quilt # 2 - All embroidery is done
Quokka Quilts QAYGFMQQAL quilt (13 blocks out of 30 quilted)
Sewing Machine Cover - continuing to FMQ
Geneva Public Library quilt - join and quilt (maybe make a block or two to even it out)

New projects in the cue to start: (1)
iPad case (not started)
New Wave quilt (not started)

Finished (0)

  4. Very nice!!! You should leave the quilt in the chair like that all the time. It looks like it was meant to be that way :) Very inviting!
