I finished up my Wrenly/fleece baby quilt. I am amazed at how well it turned out, if I do say so myself. Whole cloth (Wrenly) front, fleece batting/backing and 50wt Aurifil "China Beige" thread (used 3/4 of a 1422 yard spool) to free-motion quilted around all of the objects in the fabric.

Front of Wrenly/fleece baby quilt. approx. 36" x 43". |
I was a little apprehensive to wash this quilt, since I didn't pre-wash any of the fabric. I was pleasantly surprised at the outcome.

The back after being washed, puffier than before. |

The front after washing, nice and flat! |
Of course I have to wish you happy St. Pat's day, my day.
The green of the day makes me think of spring, fresh produce and the world coming
out of hibernation, of life lived in the country. I am so thankful for
living where much of the farming is done the old fashioned way, no pesticides or chemical fertilizers. I have joined a local
CSA (community supported agriculture) for the past three years.
Yesterday was sign up day, and they gave out a bag of root crops
(carrots, potatoes, etc) and fresh cut spinach. YUM!
I hope you are all have a fabulous day!

ReplyDeleteYou always inspire me!! Thanks for sharing your lovely finish!
ReplyDeleteLove how it turned out! And your choice of binding fabric is perfect!
ReplyDeleteI'm obsessed with your FMQ! Awesome job!!
ReplyDeleteI saw this quilt on the Aurifil site!
ReplyDeleteI am beyond THRILLED that I ran across this quilt. I just ordered 5 1/2 yards of this fabric in the Gypsy colorway, from Fabric.com, to back my ScrappyTripalong quilt top. I adore HUGE prints for quilt backs, and I have not run across one this big in a LONG time. I have seen this fabric on Fabric.com, but had no idea of the size of the print.
ReplyDeleteThank you so much for sharing this quilt ! Thank you, thank you, THANK YOU !
