| My microstippling did change size over time. Inside the hearts, I stippled last week. |
So my question to Leah this week is: Is there any other quilting design/stitch that can be used in place of microstippling? When I say that I mean a stitch that just kind of blends into the background and lets the rest of the quilt shine?
On to the rest of my projects this week:
I was able to get the QAYG borders onto my Storybook quilt this week. I am so close to finishing this quilt, it really needs to be done! I just have to quilt the borders and bind it. I am really pleased with how well the QAYG method is working on this big (twin size) quilt.

Your FMQ is beautiful. I had the same problem. Sometimes in stead of curves more edges. And the outside became a litlle bit bigger.

ReplyDeleteWow, look at that micro stippling!! I use a number of different filler patterns but have never been able to get the micro stippling. I like to use McTavishing in the background when I can't think of anything else. But there are tons of fillers! You're quilting is amazing!
ReplyDeleteYour micro-stippling looks great! I ended up abandoning mine-really didn't like doing it at all. Ha! Glad you asked Leah about a different filler. Maybe that would work for me too!

ReplyDeletei got the sharp points too. But if you stand back, you really can't tell at all. Yours is looking great! On you borders of your quilt, You could do long back and fourth u shapes. I did it on my borders of my hello kitty quilt. It went very fast and I loved the look. I think I have a picture of it a few blogs back! Just a suggestion;)
ReplyDeleteGreat job! I think the microstippling does blend in- I suspect the next "project" will have us using the filler designs from the project at this tiny scale...

ReplyDeleteI'm really enjoying seeing everyone's finished quilts! This looks great Pat. Love your colours. I agree with the others who've said that the micro stippling looks amazingly good as soon as you step away from the quilt. Mine isn't on a small enough scale yet, but still gives the right effect.
