The design is not just a swirl, it's actually a flower. I know it's hard to see in the pictures, it's hard to see in person. |
You can see it a little better from the back. |
Well, I guess that's why I love solids! But I do love Grandma's quilt.

I can hardly wait to see how you quilt the charming squares.
ReplyDeletebeautiful swirls going round and round!
ReplyDeleteGreat quilting. Love the flower and leaf detail.
ReplyDeletewell I am afraid of it cause I suck at it lol. I just think its not something I can learn on my own, I guess maybe if I had a teacher I would be ok. lol Love your quilting though, it is beautiful!
ReplyDeleteI am stopping by from the WIP hop, my post is here if you have time to stop by :) http://domesticdeficitdisorder.blogspot.com/2013/07/wip-july-17th-edition.html
Love the flowers... Yes, I can see they are flowers! :-). And I really like that charm quilt. Cannot wait to see what you decide to do with that one! :-)
ReplyDeletePat, your quilting is awesome and I can't wait to see the square block quilt done!
ReplyDeleteWow those are lovely flowers, I am just starting out with FMQing, this has inspired me to keep up the practice
ReplyDeleteThank you for sharing. A friend asked me to quilt a more traditional top for her. I really like the less formal quilt patterns because I have the freedom to quilt it pretty much any way I like. I'm slightly intimidated by something with well-defined blocks and sashing strips and squares. You've helped me feel slightly less nervous about the quilting of her quilt.
ReplyDeleteAfraid to try because I'm afraid of ruining my quilt. What settings did you use? My bobbin doesn't always make a clean line.
