Not Your Average "Little Old Lady"; Quilts of My Mother

I can't believe that is has been a year this month that my mother passed away. She was a magnificent quilter, a wonderful mother and best of all my biggest champion! She would love that I'm putting her Babylocks to good use and whittling away at her fabric stash. Quilting makes me feel that she is close by.

I really like more modern quilts, but my mom's quilts were not your typical little old lady quilts (she was not your typical little old lady, even at 80!)

Here are just a few of the quilts she made during the almost 30 years of quilting! (She made these quilts for me sometime between 1994-1996)

King size, off center design, with a little bling of shining material!

Framed wall hanging. I stenciled the iris and mom created the quilt around them!

King sized with more bling! Cool border design

My mom never considered herself an artist or even creative. I say NOT TRUE! Love and miss you mom!

  1. You're mother was a very talented lady! Those quilts are so beautiful and you having them out and sharing them is such a wonderful tribute to her. I hope my kids are showing off my quilts someday ....

  2. Thanks Bailey Girl! I never appreciated my mom's quilts as much as I do now. So I'm sure your kids will appreciate them more as time goes on.
