FMQ for the Fun of It!

Spring has finally arrived in upstate NY. My gardens are crying for some attention, so little sewing has happened this week. But last night I decided to find a quilt sandwich and just have some fun practicing some spirals, one of my favorite designs.

The koi fish is NOT FMQ, it is machine embroidered.

This quilt sandwich was a leftover experiment from my Koi Pond quilt. I tried machine embroidery to quilt, but I never liked the results. So I think it's fair game to have a little fun stitching!

The back
I think the spirals are timely, Leah Day showed a tutorial on them this week. So I'm linking up with  Leah Day for FMQ Fridays at the Free Motion Project.

  2. Since it was just a week ago that I was looking at the lake with you the Koi seem to be swimming. I hope you turn it into a pillow to go with your beautiful Koi pond quilt. Enjoy

  8. Leah Day said that spirals have become the new stippling. After seeing this I can see why.
