Spring has finally arrived in upstate NY. My gardens are crying for some attention, so little sewing has happened this week. But last night I decided to find a quilt sandwich and just have some fun practicing some spirals, one of my favorite designs.

The koi fish is NOT FMQ, it is machine embroidered. |

This quilt sandwich was a leftover experiment from my
Koi Pond quilt. I tried machine embroidery to quilt, but I never liked the results. So I think it's fair game to have a little fun stitching!

I think the spirals are timely, Leah Day showed a
tutorial on them this week. So I'm linking up with
Leah Day for FMQ Fridays at the Free Motion Project.

P.S. Make sure you stop by next Monday. I'm participating in
Sew, Mama, Sew's May Giveaway Days. I have some cool Kaffe Fassett shot cottons to giveaway!
That looks great Pat. I hope you are going to use it for something.
ReplyDeleteI will make an effort to stop by Monday. I have been wanting to try some shot cottons.
Since it was just a week ago that I was looking at the lake with you the Koi seem to be swimming. I hope you turn it into a pillow to go with your beautiful Koi pond quilt. Enjoy
