New York City at Christmas

I was born and raised in New York, state that is, 400 miles from New York City. I have always been a country girl and have never had a strong desire to go to NYC. But since I had a meeting there this week and so many stories of NYC at Christmas, I really HAD to check it out. So I will share a few of the sites.

One of the first things we did was see the Radio City Rockettes. This is the best show, a MUST if you are visiting NYC!

The Rockettes!

The Rockettes (The camels and sheep were live animals)

Some of the windows and stores were wonderful to just "window" shop. Unfortunately, most of the prices were beyond my budget. But I just loved looking at the Lego store window creations.
Rockefeller Center

The giant Christmas Tree in Rockefeller Center

St. Patrick's Cathedral

Grand Central Station
Times Square - interesting to see, but not really my favorite place.

Empire State building (I think)

Bryant Part - one of my favorite places.
All in all, it was a fun 2 day visit. Really just about the perfect amount of time in the city for this country girl. Now it's time to get quilting, because I have been away FAR TOO LONG!

  2. Haven't been to NYC since I was 10 years old, over half a century ago! So, 400 miles from NYC - anywhere near Erie County? I grew up there, about 20 miles east of Buffalo.
