Or should I say Happy Blogiversary to Color ME Quilty! The date is somewhat arbitrary, I technically set-up this blog in June, but really didn't do anything with it until July last year. But today would have been my mom's 82nd birthday and she has been the driving force behind my quilting. Now, though all of you wonderful bloggy friends, I hear echos of my mom's love, support and encouragement. Thank you.
My mom loved a party and loved to celebrate, so I think a little giveaway party is in order!

ReplyDeleteHappy Blogiversary. I miss my mom too. My quilting inspiration today comes from the quilt I took with me to the 4th of July parade. It is the Modern Eclipse quilt that I made with my winnings from the January 2012 Block Lotto. Check it out here: http://new2quilting.blogspot.com/2012/03/eclipse-block-lotto-quilt-finished.html
ReplyDeleteMy grandmothers were my original quilting inspiration. Now I am inspired by the many cool quilts I see on blogs. I let my mind take them in and meld them together and see what comes out.

ReplyDeleteUnfortunately no-one I know sews let alone quilts so I consider the blogs i read my source of all information. I didn't even know what a blog was 18 months ago, and come this October I will have had my machine 2 years. I am amazed at what i have learnt, but more importantly how welcoming and helpful bloggers have been!
ReplyDeleteI consider all the cool blogs I read and book covers as inspiration for my quilts. My mother in law quilts, but she is into the more traditional, and I like the more modern look.

ReplyDeleteI know I am too late for your giveaway but I wanted to say that I checked out all your Moms quilts. Silly woman, she was a beautiful artist. Some really great designs and nice use of color. She was a creator. How nice she passed it along to you. You are blessed.
ReplyDeleteMy quilting inspiration is my baby Julia. I have always loved quilts and have one that I got as a child and my now 17 year old has claimed as his most of his life. I started quilting so that Julia will have a few of her own quilts to love and it seems that quite a few of the family now will have some quilts to love.
