Giving away three 1/2 yard pieces of hand-dyed fabric

I finished FMQ the last four blocks on Quokka Quilts QAYGFMQQAL, YAHOO!
Except for the Corgi (in honor of my dog Humphrey), all of the other FMQ designs are from Leah Day's Free Motion Quilting Project.

I also finished FMQ the border on my Storybook Quilt! I'm hoping to have that done in time for the Spring 2012 Quilt Bloggers Festival.

Not like I don't have enough projects started, I decided I really want to create 3 blocks for the Modern Quilt Guild's QuiltCon block challenge.  Part of the challenge is to use a specific set of colors.
Fat Quarters from Che' FAB - a division of Cherrywood Fabrics.

So this is my first block, I'm calling it Rose Window.
Rose Window, a variation on my Gothic Window block. The block was created with 3.5" strips - 12.5" x 12.5" block
I plan I sharing a tutorial on how to make this block, tomorrow on TNT Thursday.

Other exciting news, I have Jenny Pedigo from Sew Kind of Wonderful (and Jenny's Doodling Needle) as my guest blogger for Quilty Embellishment Day (QED on the 15th)! Jenny is incredibly talented long arm quilter and quilt designer. She is the one that invented the quick curve ruler!

Color Me Quilty!

  1. Gorgeous FMQing. Your Rose window is a stunning block. I really need to get cracking with my ruler.

  2. I love Rose Window (but you know I loved Gothic Windows too)! You should be designing these for Quiltmaker's 100 Blocks issues - they're the perfect size. I'm looking forward to the tutorial!

  3. Your Rose block is amazing. Your post today is so inspiring. Feeling lazy and delaying getting going this am. But going to start! Want to look at those rulers. There is one at the quilt store here that is suppose to be used for cutting fabric, but i thought it could be used to mark curves on the quilt for quilting. What are your thoughts? It had three different sized curves in one ruler rather than having to get three diff rulers.

  4. I didn't think you could out do the Gothic Window design but oh my, the Rose is over the top amazing.

  5. Love the tension of color and line you achieved with the Gothic Window block. Makes it sing!

  6. What a lot of great work! The corgi is so cute :)

  7. Great projects! I love your variation of the Gothic Window design!

  8. I love your FMQing - especially your lovely ferny frond.

  9. Oh my goodness- that Rose Window is stunning - what fun colors!

  10. Love your Gothic Window block! And your FMQ is so lovely! My goodness, you are a busy one!!!!

  11. I've been a fan of your FMQ since I discovered you through Leah's blog, but I must say your rose window block is inspiring too! Keep up the great work!

  12. I love the little corgi! They are such sweet, smart dogs. Your projects are beautiful, and I love everything about your rose window block.

  13. Wow ! very successful designs.

  14. Love your windows block - I'll be back for the tutorial :)

  15. Me too! What a wonderful window block!

  16. Cripes - I'm in awe of everything you posted today! Makes me want to get out into my little house and get to work because like one of the earlier poster.....I've been feeling very lazy lately. Thanks for sharing - amazing work.
