Gallivanting

When you live in the middle of nowhere and you are surrounded by lakes, going anywhere becomes gallivanting. Yesterday I was up visiting my dad, sew I took the opportunity to go to Sew Creative to pick up some more bobbins (it is amazing how many bobbins you go through free motion quilting).

Sew Creative is a great little store (my mom bought the Babylock Ellegante there), and they just happened to be having a 25% off all cottons sale. Well, I had to get just a little something. They also had the Pilot FriXion pens that you can use to mark quilts and then just iron the marks away. I can't wait to try them. The best part, they invited me next Thursday to have a "sit and sew" class with the new Pfaff Creative Sensation sewing/embroidery machine (FANCY)! The class and project are free, everyone in the class gets their own new machine to use during the class, then we get a $50 gift certificate to the store by filling out a survey on the machine. You can't beat that with a stick!!!

Then on my way home, I stopped to visit my friend Jean and we sat and gabbed and shared quilting projects! All in all, a lovely afternoon!

Well today is supposed to be rainy and windy, I think a day to sit and sew! I have a quilty purse to make for an up-coming birthday!

Sew, just Color Me Quilty!

  1. Yes fmq seems to be a black hole for getting through supplies! I keep thinking I must stock up on bobbins (and thread and fabric and batting :). Your shop sounds wonderful and how exciting to have a free lesson. I've just watched your video and the new Pfaff Creative Sensation sewing/ embroidery machine looks amazing. Have a wonderful time :)
